Things you do for grandchildren.......

you may or may not have done them with your own children......

 there is just a certain "something" with grandkids..... a sweetness......an intensity that comes from knowing......

 
that the days are long......but the years are short. 

you aren't distracted with the pressures of parenting.......

 
it's a sweet freedom that is a pleasure all it's own.  you still have to be "responsible".....  for their safety, etc.  but you are past the "raising" parts of responsibility.  those decisions are now left to the next generation to worry about the person they turn out into the world.

   

as it happens.....age makes you realize that there is sweetness to many things in life that you may not have stopped and taken the time to live in the moment before.......

he takes "nuthin off a no-body"........

he is the protector of the neighborhood.  of our house.  and if you have ideas of startin' sumthin' wit him.......you better just step back......

he takes no prisoners.....

he's mean...........

he patrols "his neighborhood"....

 
when he feels the end of the leash tug, and knows he's not allowed to get TOO close....... he becomes ferocious.

it reminds me of this:  

 he thinks he is soooooo tough.   

Shhhhhhhhhhhh.  don't tell him he's not.
